Few natural boons for diabetics..!!

Due to unhealthy life style diabetes is spreading like a wildfire. It takes few years for for people to know that they are diabetic. During this period they suffer with many complications of diabetes such as Retinopathy, Neuropathy and Nephropathy. All these can be prevented by keeping your sugar levels in check. There are many natural remedies available to help people with pre-diabetes and established diabetes. Few of them are enlisted below, hopefully it will be useful for the people who keep neglecting their heath in this fast moving world.

  • Jamun/Jamun Seeds -
Jamun has excellent anti-diabetic properties. Each part of jamun e.g. Plums, seeds and leaves can be used to control the sugar levels in body. Due its anti-diabetic properties it has been used in many Ayurvedic diabetes medicines.


  • Cinnamon -
Cinnamon increase the insulin sensitivity there by reduces the risk of diabetes. The main reason for type II diabetes is excess weight and insulin resistance. Thus, by eliminating the insulin resistance we can keep diabetes away or check its progress.


  • Bitter Gourd - 
Bitter gourd also known as Karela is popular for its blood sugar reducing property. It helps pancreas to secret the insulin and also prevent the insulin resistance in body. Thus making it useful in both type 1 and type 2 diabetes.


  • Amla - 
Amla has vitamin C which is an anti-oxidant. It also helps your pancreas to function normally.


  • Fenugreek/Methi -
Fenugreek is an herb that can also be used to control diabetes, improve glucose tolerance and lower blood sugar levels. It also stimulates the secretion of insulin. Being high in fiber, it slows down the absorption of carbohydrates and sugars. Fenugreek seeds also found to be beneficial in lowering blood sugar levels.


  • Neem - 
Neem hekps to improve the insulin sensitivity and hence useful in type II diabetes. It also help to keep the blood pressure in check.
